Our Mission: Supporting Local Families in Need
Since 2011, the Greenaway Foundation has helped financially challenged families in Crawley, Horley, and East Grinstead, providing Christmas dinners to over 6,000 families and festive gifts to 10,000 children.
Our mission is to support families who miss out on formal aid, offering assistance with food, clothing, school supplies, and transportation. We work with local schools, social services, and charities to identify families in need. Please note: We cannot take direct requests from parents or carers.
The Greenaway Foundation is funded through individual donations, local business sponsorships, and fundraising events. Greenaway Residential Estate Agents donates 10% of profits to cover operational costs, so all donations directly benefit the families.
Darren’s Story: A Desire to Give Back
Darren Greenaway, inspired by his childhood in a single-parent family, founded the Greenaway Foundation in 2011. His mother, despite financial challenges, always made holidays special – sparking Darren’s desire to help others.
After founding Greenaway Residential Estate Agents in 2000, Darren began supporting local families with Christmas food and gifts. His efforts grew into the Greenaway Foundation, now a formal charity.
Our Mission Moving Forward
For Christmas 2024, our goal is to raise £125,000 to provide 1,000 families with Christmas hampers and fulfil 4,000 Christmas wishes. Beyond Christmas, we continue to support financially challenged families year-round including offering assistance via local schools.
With the ongoing support of volunteers, sponsors, and the community, we aim to expand our impact in the coming years.

Make a Wish
Teachers and Parents: Download our Santa’s letterhead paper and share it with children eligible for support from the Greenaway Foundation.
This special letter allows them to write down their Christmas wishes, helping us bring a little extra magic to their festive season.
