The East Grinstead Business Association's Charity Golf Fundraiser was an absolute triumph, raising nearly £8,500 for The Greenaway Foundation, and we're chuffed to bits to share all the smashing highlights with you which includes a £2000 prize for a hole in one.
What a cracking day we had on the 2nd of October 2025! The East Grinstead Business Association hosted its third annual Charity Golf Fundraiser in support of The Greenaway Foundation, and it was absolutely brilliant. We’re over the moon to share all the smashing highlights from this incredible event, proudly sponsored by Plumb Digital Media and held at the prestigious Chartham Park Golf and Country Club.
The day started with a proper hearty breakfast to fuel our eighteen spirited teams, who teed off with a 10am shotgun start. The excitement was positively buzzing as many of the holes boasted fantastic prizes! There was the ‘Nearest the Pan’ challenge, brilliantly sponsored by the fabulous Paella Fella, where participants gave it their all to land closest to the very large Paella Pan. We also had two holes each for the ‘Longest Drive’ and additional ‘Nearest the Pin’ competitions, adding to the thrill. Konselio Insurance raised the stakes with an exhilarating Hole-in-One contest across all par three holes, offering a staggering main prize of £10,000 in TUI vouchers on the thirteenth hole. What a reason to swing with all your might!
As the sun shone brightly upon us, something utterly astonishing happened on the ninth hole. To everyone’s sheer amazement, Alasdair McKenzie stepped up and smashed a remarkable Hole-in-One, bagging a phenomenal prize of £2,000 in golf breaks! The crowd went absolutely wild with cheers, and though every other player put their heart into matching this feat, it remained the only Hole-in-One of the day. What an unforgettable moment!
After four and a half hours of lively play, our golfers were chomping at the bit for a well-earned afternoon dinner. The day took an electrifying turn with a rip-roaring auction, where absolutely splendid prizes were up for grabs. Picture this: a week’s stay in a breathtaking villa in Spain or an exclusive afternoon at the illustrious 67 Pall Mall private members’ club, alongside other marvellous offerings. The energy in the room was simply electric as bids flew left, right, and centre!
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the day raised just under £8,500! This fantastic sum will go a long way towards helping The Greenaway Foundation reach its 2025 target of raising £250,000. With this, we aim to support at least 2,000 families and make over 4,000 Christmas wishes come true for children this festive season. What a result!
We are already bursting with excitement for next year’s event, and we would be chuffed to bits if you would join us. If you are eager to get involved or simply want to find out more about the upcoming golf day, don’t hesitate to drop an email to Darren Greenaway at darren@greenawayfoundation.org. Let’s make next year even bigger and better for this truly wonderful cause!
