Grahame Russell the Chair of The East Grinstead Business Association is taking part in the Cycle America Coast To Coast Bike Ride to help raise funds for The Greenaway Foundation.

Coast To Coast Across America

Local East Grinstead resident, businessman and Chair of the East Grinstead Business Association, Grahame Russell is stepping up to help The Greenaway Foundation raise funds for this Christmas efforts. Together with his friend Tim Howse, Grahame is set to embark on a remarkable journey, cycling 3,800 miles across America in just nine weeks. Their mission? To raise £10,000 for The Greenaway Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting local families in need.

The Greenaway Foundation plays a crucial role in assisting families who often fall through the cracks of formal aid. From providing food and clothing to school supplies and transportation, their year-round efforts ensure that no family is left behind. Their well-known Christmas campaign delivers festive meals and gifts to struggling families across Sussex and Surrey, making a significant impact in the community.

This ambitious cycling adventure began as a light-hearted conversation over a pint ten years ago. Now, Grahame and Tim are preparing to set off from Santa Monica Beach, California, on May 5th, taking a scenic route that includes parts of the iconic Route 66.

Training has intensified, with Grahame focusing on endurance rides and injury prevention. They’re equipped with the best gear, and even plan to implement a Formula 1-style tire change mid-trip! With no support vehicle, they’ll carry everything they need on their bikes, including tents and tools, making for an unforgettable experience.

Grahame emphasizes that while this journey is an adventure of a lifetime, the true goal is to raise funds for The Greenaway Foundation. “Every mile we ride makes a difference,” he states.

Please support Grahame and Tim in their amazing efforts to complete this journey and raise their goal of £10,000.
